Orofacial Harmonisation
If an expression line, a change in volume or an asymmetry in your face bothers you, you may want to explore treatment options but feel unsure where to start. An assessment helps clarify what can be changed, what the limitations are and whether there is an option suited to your goals.
What is orofacial harmonisation?
Orofacial harmonisation brings together different procedures that can address facial features such as certain wrinkles, areas of volume and contours. The choice depends on an individual assessment: there is no single treatment for everyone, and combining several procedures is not always necessary.
The aim is to explore possible changes while respecting your facial features and what you wish to preserve.
Which procedures do we perform?
At Clinimed, three groups of procedures are available, each with a different purpose:
- Botulinum toxin — temporarily affects the activity of certain muscles and may soften wrinkles associated with facial expressions. It can also be used as an adjunct in the treatment of bruxism — the involuntary habit of clenching or grinding the teeth — helping to reduce the muscle force involved.
- Hyaluronic acid fillers — use a gel-like material to restore or modify volume and contours in selected areas, according to the clinical indication.
- Collagen biostimulators — stimulate the body’s production of collagen, a protein that contributes to the skin’s structure and support. Results develop gradually and may vary from person to person, with treatment tailored to individual needs.
Each option addresses different needs and can be used on its own or in combination, depending on the desired goals. How long the results last varies according to the treatment and the individual case, and occasional maintenance treatments may be indicated.
What happens at the first consultation?
At the first consultation, we review your medical history and take photographs, which we look at together to discuss your goals and the results you hope to achieve. We present the treatment options and a personalised plan with a cost estimate.
Treatment takes place at a separate appointment. This interval allows you to consider the proposal and ask any questions before deciding.
What if you are worried about too much change?
If you are worried about losing your natural expression, experiencing discomfort or regretting the decision, share these concerns during the consultation. Explaining what you do not want to change is just as relevant as describing the result you are looking for.
During the consultation, we explain the benefits, possible risks and care involved in each treatment, so that you can make an informed decision. Book a personalised assessment to discuss your questions and explore the options best suited to your goals.
